NEW WATER PLANT IN AMMAVARIPET

Ammavaripet October 27th 2010: a new mineral water plant has been inaugurated in Ammavaripet, a rural village 23 km north of Warangal. The de-fluoridation reverse osmosis technology used will permit to distribute 500 litres per hour of pure water to all the people of the area. The whole population of the village has been involved in this project which took almost 16 months to be completed. The women of the mahila groups decided together to use their savings of many years of empowerment program to start this water plant for their village. The head of the village, mahilas groups and all casts took part to the selection and election of the water committee who will be in charge of managing the water plant.
The program run in collaboration with the Ammavaripet village and the local government is the first of its kind in the area and represent a great success of our people’s effort to raise from poverty and privations with their own capacities.
