WATER MGMT AND SANITATION

In every village involved in the program, Arbor is introducing the system of ''community water management''. Starting from the Surpanch (head of the village) and involving the members and representatives of all the casts, tribes and religions of the village; this procedure takes around one year to be finalized and is aimed to involve all the inhabitants of the community to be responsible for the resources of the village.

Acess to water has been a crucial factor in ushering sustainable development of communities. Drinking safe water, irrigation programs and toilets are extended to many villages and local authorities are always stimulated to give their contribution.

The following programs are managed at village level:

- Mineral water plants

- Hand pump borewells

- Open wells for agricultural purposes

- Sanitation program

- Watershed management
